After obtaining my PhD in Molecular Biology, I came from Belgium to the United States in 1995 to conduct cancer research at Stanford University. But my heart had always been in traveling (Europe, America, Africa and Asia).
So one day, I decided to make my dream come true: sharing my love of traveling and giving people the opportunity to really experience a different culture. Instead of a basic ‘touristy’ sightseeing trip to France, I wanted to immerse very small groups into French culture, let them meet locals, eat authentic cuisine and ‘live’ an actual French experience. That’s how French Escapade was born in 2003.
In 2007, I started to expand my offer to new countries. I am now organizing tours Provence in addition to my original tour that takes place in the French Alps, Spain, Belgium, which is my own country, and Switzerland. I also start to specialize more and more in tours for women.
In this blog, I would like to share with you information about the countries we visit: history, culture, food, art, news but I also keep a diary when I am on my tours with my guests. So you will find many pictures of my guests, either painting, cooking, sightseeing having fun,…in Provence, Barcelona, the French Alps, Belgium, Switzerland,…
Enjoy traveling through my blog for now and for real one day with www.frenchescapade.com!
